Online pet export consultation with an Official Veterinarian provides personalised guidance before a dog, cat or other eligible pet travels from Great Britain. Home Vets London reviews your intended journey, available records and likely documentation so that avoidable timing problems can be identified early.
Pet-travel rules vary by destination, species, route, purpose of travel and date. Requirements can change, and the authorities of the destination country make the final decision. An online consultation is preparatory advice; it does not itself issue, sign or replace an Animal Health Certificate, Export Health Certificate or physical veterinary examination.
We can review the destination and proposed travel date, microchip and vaccination records, previous certificates, transport plans and information supplied by the owner. The Official Veterinarian can explain the likely sequence of steps and highlight questions that may need confirmation with official authorities, the airline, ferry company or transport agent.
Depending on the journey, the process may involve identification, vaccination, laboratory testing, parasite treatment, permits, an Animal Health Certificate (AHC), an Export Health Certificate (EHC) or destination-specific documentation. Not every item applies to every journey.
Please email clear copies of your pet’s vaccination record, microchip evidence, previous passport or travel certificates, laboratory reports and any import permit or instructions supplied by the destination authority. Include the pet’s species, breed, date of birth, country of departure and destination, travel date, route and owner or consignee details where available.
Incomplete or unclear records can delay planning. Names, microchip numbers and dates should be checked carefully because errors may affect whether documents can be certified.
You will receive a written summary of the advice and recommended next steps. If a certificate or treatment is required, a separate physical appointment may need to be arranged within a specific permitted timeframe. Certification is only possible when the Official Veterinarian is satisfied that all applicable conditions and supporting evidence have been met.
For clients proceeding with Home Vets London, the consultation fee may be credited against the qualifying subsequent home-visit service under the terms explained when booking. The current online consultation is listed at £45 for up to 30 minutes.
The existing service requires the pet to be registered with Home Vets London. If you are unsure whether your record is active, email us before booking. Complex commercial movements, unusual species or destinations with additional import procedures may require external agents or further official guidance.
Some journeys can be arranged relatively quickly, while others require tests, treatments or waiting periods over several weeks or months. Contact us as soon as the destination and likely travel date are known. Do not buy non-refundable travel before confirming that the veterinary timetable is achievable.
